There is something about the energy in Essaouira, watching the birds fly overhead while you’re sitting on the sunny rooftop of a ryad, and realizing life doesn’t have to feel complicated. You and your life get to be as effortless as a bird spreading its wings to fly. It’s the simple moments sipping Moroccan mint tea with a sugar cube and a pastry from the patisserie that reminds you all the difficult moments were preparing you for this special moment.

Imagine: days completely scheduled for you to cultivate deep connection within, great fun, laughter, making new friends from various parts of the world, maybe catching your first wave, feeling strong, yet soft and full of endorphins practicing yoga every day, seeing new views and shores, and feeling your heart open more than it has in a long time as you watch the waves from the rocks.

This retreat was birthed with the idea that we don’t have to work so hard to evolve and grow, but that using fun and a releasing of control, challenging yourself to something new, and entering places and environments you may not have the courage to enter yourself can be made possible with the right guides, support, and community.

The Moroccan coast is calling…let’s have some fun together! See you there, Inshallah :)

Larbi is born and raised in Essaouira, Morocco. He has traveled across Europe and Asia, enjoys playing the guitar and saxophone, playing chess, and cooking traditional Moroccan cuisine.

He has loved and developed his own surfing skills since childhood. After studying engineering in France and feeling uninspired by working a corporate job, he decided to dive into his passion instead, and has been teaching surfing throughout Morocco for a decade.

He regularly hosts visitors from all over the world and leads them on various excursions for a well-rounded, and expert experience. People come from the US, Australia, Latvia, Germany, the UK, Portugal, and beyond, which speaks to his craft, expertise, and warm, approachable teaching methods.

One of many of Larbi’s strengths is his ability to connect with his students and make them feel at home, confident and comfortable. He is thrilled to be partnering with Alexia to bring you a truly unique and distinct experience!

FAQs

  • We recommend a journal, a bathing suit for sunbathing, and comfy clothes to lounge around the beach house in. Bring a yoga mat if you have one. Feel free to BYOB or personal bottle of wine for evening activities. We’re bringing “staycation mode” to the next level.

  • We’ll send you all the location info once you sign up. However, the drive to our beautiful little home is typically 1hr and 20 min TOPS coming from Houston. There is rarely traffic on weekends (whoop whoop!) and to our day pass people: we’ll make sure to send you off before the sunset so you’re not driving home in the dark.

We’re the very first exit after the causeway bridge so it’s a straight shoot to the freeway coming in and out.

  • Yes. Please report any and all dietary restrictions to one of our lovely hosts or in the notes section upon sign up and at least 7 days before our retreat weekend.
